Thank you Gibran. I would love to talk with you about these ideas. I have also been thinking a lot about the practice of nonviolence right now and about what nonviolent resistance look like in this moment. I know in my heart that the roots of nonviolence are spiritual commitments -- it is because we hold a deep belief in the fundamental precious essence of another human that we commit not to do violence against them -- for me, that is the Quaker ideal of seeing and honoring "the Light" or that of God in every other person. I am looking to join in the conversation about what this looks like in this moment. If you know where it is happening, or if we need to start it! let me know.

So grateful for this essay. I hope to read it aloud with some co-conspirators and emergent ritualists… may we embody resistance without polarization; resistance that expresses deep, invincible love. Thank you again!
